Since my last blog post I had a challenging and interesting time. In December I worked as a consultant for db4objects in Beijing with the Google Android platform. It was really a great experience and a lot of fun to work in a team of IT experts, half Chinese and half European. Thanks, Christof. And some of them got really good friends, hey Simon Simon, I hope we meet soon, but latest when we (Austria) play against you (Germany) at the European Soccer Championship. This time we will win

Since beginning of the year I’m working on a kind of social networking platform. I’m prototyping and thinking about the concept of the platform for more than 2 years. And now it is the right time to realize it together with a great team. The platform is mainly based on Java6 and Lucene technology. The basis of the platform will be a completely new service framework. It is something like the Spring framework but much smaller, simpler and with zero configuration, and almost no learning required. Based on that we develop the platform with features derived from wikis, social networking sites, blogs, mashups, ajax, mobile and many more. I don’t want to write more about it now, but it has some really unique features, and most important is its flexibility and simplicity.

We just passed the first milestone, and I’m really happy at the moment. I will write more about it, when it’s time for it.
